The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Division of Special Education/Early Intervention Services (DSE/EIS) and Johns Hopkins Center for Technology in Education (CTE), offer the Early Intervention Leadership Academy (EILA). This unique program is designed to prepare aspiring and current leaders in local Infants and Toddlers programs.
In the spring, MSDE seeks nominations from local agency Directors for aspiring and current leaders to participate in a yearlong cohort of 16-18 participants. This academy is a comprehensive professional development program at no cost to participants.
Through the academy, participants will engage in a blended approach of online and face-to-face professional development led by experts in the field and designed to accommodate participants’ work schedules.
The professional development program is comprised of five course modules, each delivered in facilitated format and designed to promote a high level of interaction and collaboration among participants. The program incorporates individual mentoring and field experiences to maximize participants’ learning.
